After yesterday's post about my Watsons haul, I received a comment from a reader asking about Bioré Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover. Neither she nor I had seen it before, and I found out that it is the newest Bioré facial makeup remover, replacing the well-loved Bioré Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover. I had been meaning to try the old one for the longest time, but I hadn't finished using my Bifesta Water-Based Makeup Remover yet (comparison review soon!).

I have to confess, the pink pump bottle was what attracted me initially. Though there was no discount for this product at the Watsons Private Member Sale (30 May 2012), I decided to get it to replace my almost empty Bifesta Water-Based Makeup Remover (which I love to death).
The packaging states that the Bioré Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover is not oily or sticky, has a smooth serum-like texture that glides on easily, contains 1/3 moisturising essence and removes even waterproof mascara. Sounds like a dream makeup remover!
Interestingly enough, it is not advisable to use facial cotton pads or tissue to apply this makeup remover. I think it would be because the moisturising essence can only work most effectively when applied directly on skin.

Here's the Bioré Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover without the packaging. The pink pump bottle looks so adorably cute; I would have bought it just to try, if only because of how it looks. I like that there is a plastic cap cover the pump - full marks for hygiene.
I wasn't wearing makeup today, so I can't show pictures of my face before/after using this product. Instead, I swatched the basic sorts of makeup products that most women would use on a daily basis on my arm and let them sit for a good 15 minutes before attempting to remove them with the Bioré Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover.

As suggested, I squeezed two pumps of the makeup remover onto my hand. It is clear and quite thick compared to normal cleansing oil, therefore the "jelly" texture, I guess. It smells slightly fruity, like kids' shampoo or the Herbal Essences line of hair products.
True to the packaging's claims, it had a very smooth texture and glided onto my arm like silk. After thoroughly massaging it into my arm for a few minutes, I washed off the murky mess of makeup remover and makeup with water. As you can see, most of the makeup has been removed quite cleanly, except for a few of the swatches.

Looks like these are the most stubborn makeup products! The stain left by the Milani Lip Flash in Hot Flash really looks like I cut my wrist, haha. After the first round of cleansing, I did a second round. This time, everything else came off except for NYX Round Lipstick in LSS643 Femme.
That is one stubborn lipstick; the femme fatale of the pack! I'm not sure if you can see it clearly, but the pink stain of Femme was impossible to remove from my wrist. I had to break out my Bioré Makeup Remover for Eye & Lip (review soon!) before it would disappear.
My arm felt incredibly smooth and moisturised after cleansing with the Bioré Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover; clearly the moisturising essence worked perfectly! It didn't feel oily nor sticky, and did remove almost all traces of mascara from my arm - pretty impressive for a full-face makeup remover.
However, it didn't remove the lip products very thoroughly, so I suggest sticking to the Bioré Makeup Remover for Eye & Lip to ensure the removal of all lip products, especially lipstick that tends to stain.
