Ever heard of Russell Organics? It's a cruelty-free and certified vegan brand that promises an effective, non-toxic skincare experience with three different product lines: skincare, hair care and men's skincare. As someone with the bad habit of sleeping late and drinking water before I sleep, I'm always on the lookout for the perfect eye cream to counter puffiness. Most eye creams tend to feel slightly greasy or sticky, so I haven't been too keen on using them. I've been testing Russell Organics Eye Cream for almost a month now, and I'm pleased to say that I'll continue using it because it's simply great!
This eye cream is described as a "luxurious blend of active ingredients, purposefully selected to treat eye contour issues; wrinkles, loss of elasticity, puffiness, and hyperpigmentation". While I haven't been using it long enough to tell if it improved my eye contours (and I don't have wrinkles yet!) I can vouch for the quality of this product. It's lightweight, not greasy and didn't irritate my sensitive undereye skin.
Take a look at the texture - it blends out smoothly onto my skin without any grease left over. Only a pea-sized amount is required for the undereye area so this cream is sure to last for a long time! Now let's take a took at the ingredients:
A quick look at this ingredients list shows us that Organic Aloe Vera Leaf Juice is the top ingredient, which means it is present in the highest quantity in this product. That's a great thing, as aloe vera is well-known for being able to improve blood circulation and calm down irritated skin. Improved blood circulation means that the skin will also regain elasticity and become less puffy. Sunflower seed oil is next - it helps to prevent premature skin aging and also provides and retains skin moisture to keep the skin hydrated. After a quick search on EWG Skin Deep database, I was glad to find that the rest of the ingredients aren't toxic at all. They rate at an impressive score of no to low hazard, proving that this eye cream's formulation is truly non-toxic for the skin.
After using this eye cream for almost a month, I find that it does hydrate and make my undereye skin softer and less puffy in the morning. It's a pleasure to use as it's not greasy, and has a mildly soothing scent even without artifical fragrances added. I will have to continue using it for a longer period to see if there's an effect on the small wrinkles and pigmentation on my undereye.
