Naruko Narcissus Total Defense Night Gelly Review and Pictures

If my previous teaser post had clued you into anything at all, you'd have realised that this is a Naruko review post :) Today's review will be on the Naruko Narcissus Total Defense Night Gelly, a product that is suitable for all skin types. It helps to deeply moisturise and repair the skin while you're sleeping - perfect for the busy working person/student (like yours truly) who has little time for skincare. Thanks to Naruko Singapore, I got to try out this product, test its effectiveness and give you the lowdown on my findings. Reviewer Rachel reporting for duty... after the jump!

Presenting... *drumrolls*... the Naruko Narcissus Total Defense Night Gelly! The name is quite a mouthful, but we're in for a treat.

The label on the tub is quite self-explanatory. It's a night gelly that works as an overnight mask. Slap a dime-sized amount of it on your face at night and it will hydrate and repair your skin overnight. Its main  active ingredients are the Narcissus Bulb Extract and Phytoferulin complex (consists of many plant extracts), which contains anti-oxidants to help repair the skin damage done by free radicals.

Here's the ingredients list:

But wait, before putting on the night gelly, you'll have to do a complete skincare routine, beginning from make up removal. To remove make up easily, try the Bioré Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover or the Naruko Total Defense Make-up Removing Mousse. They're among my favourites. Next, you'll have to cleanse your face using facial wash. Those with oily/combination skin would find the Naruko Tea Tree Oil Out Acne Clay Cleanser to be a good and inexpensive exfoliating cleanser. After that, apply toner to your face to remove the last of the grime. Oily/combination skin would appreciate the Naruko Tea Tree Oil Out Acne Toner. A good dose of moisturiser would be next in line after the toner. Once again, the Naruko Tea Tree Oil Out Balancing Moisturiser is great for oily/combination skin. Don't forget some facial serum if your skin needs a boost! And after that, you're set to slap on a dime-sized amount of the Naruko Narcissus Total Defense Night Gelly all over your face.

This Night Gelly smells very pleasant, soothing and botanical. It is translucent in colour, with a thick, goopy texture. Don't worry though - once you pat it on your face, it is absorbed very quickly, and leaves a thin glaze of gelly over your skin. The next morning, your skin should look a little shiny/oily; a good wash should get rid of the remnants of gelly, revealing radiant skin!

As I've tried Naruko gellies before, I was expecting great results from this one, and it didn't disappoint. I let the gelly work its magic overnight, and after washing my face in the morning, discovered that my skin was smooth, supple and fair. The brightening effect is quite visible, and as I have naturally duller skin, I was very pleased that my face looked bright and fresh.

In my usual skincare routine, I use the Naruko Tea Tree Oil Out Night Gelly to keep my skin pimple free. This Narcissus Night Gelly works just as well, except that it does not have the distinctive tea tree smell, which may be a little unpleasant to some people. I think that the Narcissus Night Gelly would work especially well for those with normal/combination skin, and those who are living in colder and dryer climates, as it is very moisturising and soothing.

Busy student exhibit A with her favourite Naruko Night Gelly:

The Naruko Narcissus Total Defense Night Gelly is available at most Watsons outlets and also on the Naruko SG online store. There are other types of night gelly that you can get, depending on your skin type, but this particular one is good for all skin types!

And again, my "ARE YOU SERIOUS YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS IS?" face:

Okay barring the melodrama, my final verdict is that the Naruko Narcissus Total Defense Night Gelly is a must-try. It's easily available, effective, and suitable for all skin types. Moreover, it's a rather unique product that works very well overnight. One 60ml tub lasts for about 3 months, so I'd say it's worth the expense!
