Dentiste' Plus White Nighttime Herbapeutic Toothpaste

First things first. Seriously? Herbapeutic? I never knew that such a word existed until I started writing this review. But trust me, don't laugh at this toothpaste. It is the most awesome toothpaste I've used to date. I never knew I could get excited about toothpaste until this! (therefore the post). More details on my experience after the jump!

My personal experience
I was introduced to this brand of toothpaste when I redeemed a free sample of it on The Sample Store. I used it for a few nights and noticed that my bad breath and post-nasal drip (I suffer from sinusitis) had lessened dramatically. To test whether other brands of toothpaste had the same effect, I reverted to using Darlie and Sensodyne toothpaste after my 100g tube of Dentiste' toothpaste had run out. My post-nasal drip returned with a vengeance, and I absolutely had to use Dentiste' toothpaste again until it subsided. I also noticed that within the few months that I had been using Dentiste', I did not have tonsil stones, which usually appeared once every few months. This mini-experiment showed that there was a correlation between better oral health and using Dentiste' toothpaste to brush my teeth.

As of now, I'm still using Dentiste' Plus White Nighttime Herbapeutic Toothpaste. It does live up to its claims of improving and maintaining oral health and I am very satisfied with its effectiveness. If you intend to use it too, remember that you don't require a lot of it to brush your teeth. An amount of about 1cm in diameter should be sufficient. The toothpaste does not foam as much as other toothpastes and is slightly minty. A side note: The packaging is very attractive - makes you feel like you're using a luxury toothpaste. And for me, affordable luxuries are always welcome.

I decided to post the product description after my personal experience because it was really long! The following product description is taken and adapted from The Sample Store (pictures are mine):

"Dentiste' is a toothpaste that controls oral bacteria effectively and gives fresh morning breath, which leads to good oral and body health.

Dentiste' active ingredients

1. Xylitol, which fights against bad breath, inhibits plaque formation on teeth, reduces tooth decay and encourages demineralization of teeth. Xylitol is completely safe for all ages.

2. CDX (Cyclodextrin Complex). The doughnut shaped molecules of CDX are the new and powerful anti-odor ingredient of Dentiste’ Nighttime Toothpaste. Odors like cigarette smoke, coffee, and nighttime breath are immediately recognized sealed off and washed away by the Cyclodextrin complex molecular structure.

3. Stable Vitamin C. Vitamin C is good for the gums, however, in general, Vitamin C cannot be mixed into toothpaste, as it is freely soluble in water. Dentiste’ Nighttime Toothpaste’s unique technology makes it possible to envelop Vitamin C, which is easily destroyed, in a special base. Vitamin C, which facilitates the restoration of destroyed collagen fibers through its effect of aiding in collagen synthesis, will prevent periodontal disease and keep the gums healthy.

4. Micronized Silica Complex. This active fine grinding ingredient is clinically proven effective on soothing sensitive teeth. Unlike the regular silica compound, this safe and low abrasion formula helps protect tooth enamel while brushing teeth.

5. 14 Natural Extracts clinically proven effective on soothing sensitive teeth: Eucalyptus, Fennel, Mentha, Catechu, Cinnamon, Commiphora, Glycyrrhiza, Ratanhia, Myrrhis, Sage, Clove, Salvia, Anise and Ginger. These ingredients collectively promote good breath and exihibit antibacterial properties, even against bacteria that can cause cavities and gingivitis. They fight sore throats, mouth ulcer, dental infections, night breath and gum disease.

Why you need nighttime toothpaste?
When we sleep saliva flows at a slower speed than during daytime. Anaerobic bacteria start increasing in numbers and smelly Sulphur compounds are quickly formed resulting to bad morning breath!

Who should use Dentiste’ Nighttime Toothpaste?
Whilst Dentiste’ Nighttime Toothpaste is suitable for people suffering from bad morning breath it is also for people who want stay healthy, since oral bacteria not only causes bad breath, it can easily induce many diseases.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO DENTISTE TOOTHPASTE USERS: It is important to know that Dentist Nighttime Toothpaste is not as foamy as normal toothpastes for the simple reason that these foam and bubbles are created from ingredients that are harsh and unhealthy for your gums and teeth. This is similar to foamy/bubble facial wash products which are unsuitable and harsh for the skin causing fine lines, acne, roughness and other skin related problems. Dentiste' toothpaste is free of Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), thus it doesn't foam as much and does not harm your teeth with harsh chemicals."

Dentiste' toothpastes are available for sale at Watsons, Guardian, Giant, Cold Storage, Robinsons, John Little, OG, Nishino Pharmacy and NHG Pharmacy. I usually get Dentiste' toothpaste from Watsons because I am a member - it's prudent to chalk up a few more points from buying necessities. Watsons also has sales from time to time, and that's when I grab a few of these to last me a few months. Lucky for you, there's a buy 2 get 1 free promotion at the moment. Grab 2 100g tubes along with a 60g mini tube of Dentiste' Plus White Nighttime Herbapeutic Toothpaste for the low price of 11.90 SGD at Watsons now!

You can try the other toothpastes in their range too - there are whitening treatments and one for those with sensitive teeth. I've tried the Whitening toothpaste (pictured on the left of the buy 2 get 1 free pack) but I prefer the Nighttime toothpaste because it improves my sinusitis condition.
